About ORC Property Management

ORC was founded in 2000 by brothers Seth, Andrew, and Jared Allen to manage various Allen family properties in and around Burlington, Vermont. Properties now under management are Allen’s Landing, a mixed commercial/residential building located at 130 West Canal Street in Winooski; 140 West Canal Street in Winooski, home of Turmax Printing; and two Vermont vacation properties on Lake Iroquois in Hinesburg, Vermont.

The current managers of ORC Property Management are Andrew Allen and his wife Betsy Allen-Pennebaker. They are also co-owners of Vermont Design Works, a Winooski-based graphic and web design company with offices in Allen’s Landing.

After an All-American football career at Williams College and a B.A. in Economics, Andrew, a native Vermonter, returned home to manage County Data Corporation, a database marketing firm located at Allen’s Landing. After selling County Data, Andrew served as an angel investor and “start-up guy” for companies such as eplresidential.com, Visual Legacy Group, Fat Cat Inc, Santa Night and CollectorOnline.com. He started Vermont Design Works in 1999 with the goal of helping small- and medium-sized Vermont businesses succeed on the web.

Before meeting Andrew and moving to Vermont, Betsy earned a doctorate in German literature at the University of Oxford. She is also trained in Shiatsu massage. In addition to her work for ORC, Betsy also manages three additional properties that she and Andrew own privately - two small apartment buildings in Burlington and four vacation cabinas in Costa Rica.

Andrew and Betsy both strongly believe in giving back to the community. Andrew is a member and past President of the Board of Directors of the Burlington/Winooski Boys and Girls Club, and Betsy serves on the board of Vermont Stage Company and is active in local politics. In addition, every year Andrew co-organizes Santa Night, a multi-state fundraising event that raises over $100,000 in a single night for kids in need.

Andrew and Betsy run ORC according to their convictions: to succeed by helping others succeed. They are strong supporters of small and start-up businesses and hope that Allen’s Landing will be a place where Vermont’s creative economy grows and prospers. Likewise, they strive to offer high-quality residential housing that is clean, safe, pleasant, and dog-friendly - the kind of places they would like to live themselves!
